Property taxes are crushing families and farmers:
“ The auditor’s job touches the two things people feel most: their valuation and the integrity of how county money gets authorized and tracked. Citizens deserve straight answers and an office that works for them. I'll do just that!”
What I intend to do as Greene County Auditor:
A. Make property valuation fair and understandable:
Voters don’t just want “lower taxes.” They want to know why their value jumped and what they can do about it.
• Clear, plain-English explanations of valuation changes.
• Easy-to-find online tools and guides that show what changed and why.
• Better customer service so homeowners and farmers aren’t ignored
B. Make the Board of Revision process easier for people:
• People should not need a lawyer to understand how to challenge a valuation.
• Step-by-step guidance for filing complaints with simple videos and printed instructions.
• Clear timelines and better responsiveness during complaint season.
• Friendly help provided at the window to file a complaint to challenge a valuation.
C. Run a disciplined, transparent payments process:
• The auditor authorizes payments and that is real oversight power.
• If we pay it the public should be able to see what its for.
Be citizen focused:
The auditor is an oversight position. It should not feel like a “club.”,
I am Committed to:
• Returning calls and emails.
• Running the office for citizens, not insiders.
• Public updates about what the office is doing.
• Help eligible people actually claim programs like Homestead and other lawful relief
Most asked questions:
Q: Can you end property taxes as auditor?
A: “I wish I could, but the answer is no, but I will advocate for more refunds and rollbacks.
Q: What will you do differently from the current office?
A: “I’ll run a plain-English office that returns calls, makes valuations easier to understand, makes the appeal process easier to navigate, and makes spending transparency usable for citizens.”
Q: Why should voters trust you if you’re not a career government person?
A: “Because this is an oversight job. I bring independent judgment, real-world financial discipline, and a commitment to make the office citizen-focused and transparent.”
“Greene County deserves an Auditor’s Office that is independent, understandable, and accountable. I’m running to protect citizens from unfair valuation shocks, to make the process accessible, and to bring disciplined oversight to county payments and records. Plain English. Real accountability. An office that works for you.”
